Stand, Walk - Poem

You rise, you falter, you fall.
You rise, make a move, then a fault-
You steady up, then slip and fall.
But, nothing can make you halt:
You stand, you walk.

Now,

You rise, you falter, you fall.
You sit, hesitate, moan the fault-
You lie down, slip away, give up all.
But, what has made you halt?
Stand! Walk!

Don't give up when your faults overcome you!
Don't give up when your thoughts fail!
Don't lose heart, keep pumping on!
You may falter, but you will rise,
Stand, Walk, Run!

A Morning Song

My heart is filled with praises to You,
O Lord, Maker of my soul!
Your grace is fresh like the morning dew;
Each day, goodness You unfold.

We hear the song of birds singing,
As they rise up each morning.
Their heart is secure in Your care,
O Infinite One, You are everywhere!

Sunlight fills the morning sky,
Bringing light to every eye.
Kids arise, off blankets they shake.
The night is over, it's time to wake.

You fill our homes with laughter and joy,
Our tables abound with food.
You watch with fondness every girl and boy,
You teach us what is good.

O Lord, Your praises fill the earth,
There is none like You!
You sustain the whole universe.
Our heart is secure in You.

POEM FOR FATHER AND MOTHER

FATHER
Like the sky that burns red so that the earth stays cool,
And its bluest color tells how hot is the noon;
Like the lightning rod that takes the bolt to the ground,
And the concrete slabs that take the beatings of storms,
He stands to cover, to comfort, and to calm,
And asks for nothing, giving all.

MOTHER
Her womb is God's crucible where a child is formed,
Her bosom is the place where comfort is found,
Her lips pour wisdom that guards our soul
And sets it on track to reach life's goal.

"My son, hear the instruction of your father,
And do not forsake the law of your mother" (Pro.1:8)

MY HEART'S SONG!

I hear You in the thunder,
I hear You in the storm,
I see You in pitch darkness,
I see You where there's no form,
I sense You amidst things that hinder,
I sense You amidst the throng,
I know You amidst deep quietness,
I know You in my every song,
Lord, You're my heart's Song!

"You Watch Over Me" - Poem

"The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1)

You watch over the lily,
You watch over the tree,
You watch over the grass of the field;
But, more over me.

You feed the birds,
You feed the herds,
You feed the fish of the sea;
But, more You feed me.

You hold each galaxy,
You hold the open sea,
You hold the fleeting stars of the sky;
But, more You hold me.

You see through darkness,
You see through brightness,
You see through every cloud and shadow;
But, more see through me.

You know the sunrise,
You know the falling tides,
You know every gust of wind;
But, more You know me.
You watch over me!

All of You, None of Me

"All of You, none of me,"
Is all I pray to Thee.
A clay pot filled with divine treasure
Of power and truth beyond measure
Is all I want to be.

Eyes of Love

The Lord of the Universe watches from above,
He looks at the oppressed with eyes of love.
He feels their agony, their cries He hears.
He'll give them justice and wipe their tears.

Send Your Fire

Send Your fire, light this wet,
Damp and lifeless altar!
Motivate, inspire! Help us get
To where we will not falter.
Sprinkle sparks, fan the flame,
Heat us hotter, slay our shame.
Take our treasures, grant us grace
To walk in wisdom, to run this race.

On Family, Familiarity, and Fear

"Familiarity breeds contempt,"
I have heard them often say.
It's wise to not be too frequent,
It's important for one to have his own space.
But, frequency is not the same as familiarity;
Familiarity and family go together.
True friends see each other's weaknesses,
And, they help each other grow strong.

These fig leaves that hide false shame
Will not remain for very long.
The desire for human honor
Only tears humans apart.
But, He gave us garments
Washed in His blood.
He came and lives in us,
We are the sons of God.

The closer I draw to Him,
The deeper grows my love.
The closer He draws to me,
The greater He shows His love.

God Speaks Through Dreams - Poem

In deep sleep at night,
When the body is at rest,
The soul still has sight
In dreams it must test,
Whether they be from God
Or from the soul unrest;
For God often speaks
When our thoughts are quiet,
And the soul that truly seeks
Will surely have light.

God in the Midst of Sudden Silence

The passion of a hurricane,
The pouring of a cloudburst rain,
Then, suddenly, a dumb silence;
But, God, You are still there!!

Led by God

I can't see the entire road, but the road is still there.
I'm just at this present spot, but God is everywhere.
He leads and I can see the next steps to take.
But, I must be perpetually alert, vigilant, and awake.

The Sun Rise

The sun has risen and his golden beams light up the horizon,
He draws the day across the sky on a blazing trail of fire.
But, he reminds me he's just a shadow of the soon coming Glorious One,
That Righteous Sun whose path is lit by God's healing desire.

Open Doors

When God shuts the door, He wants you, for the moment, to stay in alone with Him.
When God opens the door, He wants you, at that moment, to go out along with Him.

God's Gifts To Man

Speed is given to the cheetah, but the race is given to man;
Wings are given to the falcon, but sublimity is given to man;
Strength is given to the lion, but dominion is given to man;
Labor is given to the ant, but planning and management to man;
Beauty is given to the butterfly, but art is given to man;
Night is given to the owl, but watchfulness is given to man;
The sting is given to the scorpion, but peace is given to man;
Corpulence is given to the whale, but magnanimity is given to man;
Yes, height is given to the mountains and breadth is given to space;
But, what compares to the hope, faith, and love that God has given to man!

Eternal Destiny

This life, a withering leaf,
Will one day rise to eternity;
So, why weep for fading things
When heaven is our destiny?

The withering grass, now fresh now dry;
The fleeting clouds that cover the sky;
These colors do change at the tick of time;
So, why be proud of a blot that'll die?

Yet, faders can't dim the hope within
That someday the sky will part for Him
Who'll come with strong celestial hosts
To take us home to be with Him.

Say "I Can"

Don't give up when the road looks tough,
Don't give up when the winds blow rough;
Take your stand,  say "I can".
With God on your side, you've less to fight.
Speak such words that will move the mountain,
Think such thoughts that will calm the sea.
For Christ is your unfailing fountain
Of faith, of joy, of wisdom, and peace.

"For with God nothing will be impossible." (Lk. 1:37)

When Silence Seals

When silence seals the lips of friends,
You let me know You are here;
When cold confusion darkness tends,
You shine Your light over here.

When dull seems destiny, far unseen,
You still keep walking, closely by.
When friends fear failure will strike my knees,
You stand to hold and lift me high.

Ocean of Kindness - Poem

Ocean of Kindness, How great is Your Infinite Love;
I entered in dark, soiled, and dirty; I came out spotless and white.
I entered in broken, wormy, and leprous; I came out unblemished as a child.
I entered in troubled, confused, and ignorant; I came out with unspeakable peace of mind.
O Ocean of Kindness, Ocean of Kindness, How great is Your Infinite Love!

Your Kindness never gets deplete,
Your Kindness never gets soiled,
Your Kindness is constant forever;
Ocean of Kindness, How great is Your Love!
O Ocean of Kindness, Ocean of Kindness, How great is Your Infinite Love!

Sardis (Rev.3:1-6) - Poem

Storm in Lake of GalileeFrom the One who holds the Seven Spirits and the Seven Stars,
"I know you as you are:
By reputation, alive; by character, dead!"

"Watch and strengthen the things now dying; your works aren't perfect before God;
Hold fast, repent, and watch;
If you don't defile your garments, I'll give you garments white!"

"For, I am coming soon to take the overcomers home;
And, before the Father's throne,
Their names I will confess and won't blot from the Book of Life."

There is no overcoming, without a proper fight;
He who expects no fighting will falter from the right;
But, he who holds his faith in faithfulness will walk with Jesus in white.
