One Body (Rom.12:5)

"So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another." (Rom.12:5)

The Church is not a denomination, for denominations are organizations, but the Church is one body, and the believers, being many, are individually members of one another, irrespective of location, language, nationality, or time period. Unity is organic, not organizational, obviously. Organizations exist for the sake of order and oversight; however, they can often be a hindrance to the individual. But, the Church has no name or human barriers. It is always one body. The deeper connection is undeniable and basic to the body no matter what the external identifiers may be; the Lord only knows His one body.

"Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position." (Rom 12:16)

"Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position." (Rom 12:16)
~James makes a serious point when he asks: "Suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes. If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, "You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor"-- well, doesn't this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?" (Jam 2:2-4). What then about those who only respond to those who may procure them some profit, some publicity? What of those who parade photographs with the "big" ones, but are ashamed of the poor? What of those who do charity for pictures and a story, but do not "associate" with people of low position, are not willing to be with them? What of those who seek attention of the top brass, but shut their ears to the ones on grass? What of those "servants" who are ashamed of another God's servant because he is not recognized by the larger systems? What of those "believers" who look for a megachurch, not for the sake of true fellowship, but in order to brag that they go to the bigger one? What of those..... What of Christ? Where does He dwell? With whom? Where was He born? Whom did He call? Who were they who crucified Him?
